Implementing a Battery Replacement Strategy

Share:

Battery Powered devices are increasing in number in facilities and practices across the country each and every day. When these batteries start to fail, the device can begin to return erroneous results. This is true for Thermometers, Scales, Pulse Oximeters, etc. Often times, the device will begin to return the erroneous results well before the low battery indicator (if available) presents itself.

To ensure proper operation of these devices, it is important to implement a Battery Replacement schedule. This battery replacement schedule can be based on date, hours used, number of tests run, or whichever other criteria best suits you and your facility or practice.

For devices that see heavy use, such as scales and thermometer, it is recommended that these batteries be replaced on a monthly or bi-monthly basis to ensure proper operation.
